The 2026 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (Empowering New Students to Become Adaptive and Competitive Hasanuddin Young Leaders)

Gowa, August 13, 2026 — The Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, welcomed 107 new students of the 2026 cohort through the 2026 Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru/PKKMB). The program served as an important first step for new students to become familiar with the academic environment, student life, and various systems and services that will support their educational journey in the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program.

The Faculty of Engineering’s PKKMB 2026 was conducted over two days. On the first day, new students participated in a welcoming program as part of their initial introduction to university life within the Faculty of Engineering. The activity provided an opportunity for students to begin adapting to the university environment while building a sense of togetherness as members of the Hasanuddin University academic community.

On the second day, the program continued with a more specific introduction to campus life within the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program. Through sessions delivered by faculty members of the study program, new students received essential information to help them begin their academic journey and adapt to university life.

The sessions covered various topics, including an introduction to faculty members and administrative staff, the academic and learning system, Course Registration (Kartu Rencana Studi/KRS), and the introduction of various digital applications and platforms used to support the learning process. Students were also introduced to academic services and administrative procedures that they need to understand from the beginning of their studies to ensure a smooth transition into university life.

In addition to academic matters, new students were also introduced to student activities and organizations within the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program. These activities provide opportunities for students to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, creativity, and other essential skills beyond the classroom.

Through these activities, new students were not only encouraged to understand the academic system they will be part of, but also to develop a sense of belonging to the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program. Interactions with lecturers and members of the academic community are expected to create a positive first experience while helping students adjust to the transition from secondary education to higher education.

PKKMB 2026 also served as an initial platform for introducing the values that shape academic life within the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program. Students are encouraged to become active, responsible, and adaptive individuals while developing a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. These values are essential in preparing future Environmental Engineering graduates who are competent, ethical, and socially responsible.

With the knowledge and experience gained throughout the PKKMB program, the 107 new students of the 2026 cohort are expected to begin their university journey with greater confidence and preparedness. More than simply a welcoming event, PKKMB marks the beginning of their journey to learn, adapt, grow, and contribute as members of the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University.

Welcome to the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program, Hasanuddin Young Leaders of 2026! Let us grow, collaborate, and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
