Benchmarking Study by the Mining Engineering Department of Kutai Kartanegara University to the Mining Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University

The Mining Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Mining Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Kutai Kartanegara University on Friday, July 17, 2026. The visit was attended by 40 participants, consisting of 36 students and 4 accompanying lecturers.

The benchmarking visit aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration while providing insights into the academic facilities and infrastructure available at the Mining Engineering Study Program, FT-UNHAS, which support teaching, research, and community engagement activities.

The program commenced with the screening of the Department of Mining Engineering, Hasanuddin University profile video, introducing participants to the department's history, achievements, facilities, and various academic and student activities. The presentation provided an overview of the department's development and its strengths in mining engineering education.

Following the presentation, the visiting delegation was invited on a guided tour of the department's laboratories and facilities. During the tour, participants were introduced to the functions of each laboratory and the equipment used to support practical courses, research, and student competency development. The session also served as an opportunity for discussions and the exchange of ideas regarding laboratory management and the utilization of academic facilities in the learning process.

Through this benchmarking visit, it is expected that stronger collaboration will be established between the Mining Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Engineering, Kutai Kartanegara University and the Mining Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. The activity also provided a valuable platform for sharing best practices in academic program management while broadening participants' understanding of the development and management of educational facilities and infrastructure in the field of mining engineering.
