Implementation of the Unhas Independent Entrance Exam in collaboration with the Selayar Islands Regional Government at SMKN 1 Benteng Selayar
Selayar, July 26, 2026 — The Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Vocational Studies at Hasanuddin University, held an independent pathway entrance exam in collaboration with the Selayar Islands Local Government. The event took place at SMKN 1 Benteng Selayar as the exam venue.
The implementation of this exam was also directly monitored by the Regent of the Selayar Islands as a way for the local government to support increasing access to higher education for the local community.
This activity is part of efforts to expand access to higher education for local youth, especially in the Selayar Islands region. Through this collaboration, high school/vocational school graduates are given the opportunity to continue their education to the university level, particularly in vocational fields focused on workforce needs.
The exam was conducted smoothly and orderly, following the established procedures and selection standards. Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the entire exam process as part of the selection of new students.
In addition, this activity is a form of synergy between universities and local governments in improving the quality of human resources. It is hoped that, through this cooperation, more young people from the Selayar Islands can access higher education and contribute to regional development.
The Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program of the Vocational Faculty at Hasanuddin University expresses its appreciation to all parties who have supported the implementation of this activity, including the committee and the schools that have provided facilities.
Going forward, the cooperation between the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University and the Selayar Islands Local Government is expected to continue in order to improve equitable access to education and produce graduates who are competent and ready to compete in the workforce.
