“Laying of the First Stone for the UNHAS Faculty of Vocational Studies Student Dormitory in Selayar Islands Regency”

Selayar, May 16, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Studies of Hasanuddin University held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the UNHAS Vocational Campus Student Dormitory in Selayar Islands Regency on Saturday, May 16, 2026. This event marked the first step in providing comfortable and representative housing facilities to support students’ academic activities.

The construction of the dormitory is expected to provide comfort, strengthen togetherness, and enhance students’ motivation to learn while pursuing their education at the Selayar Vocational Campus. The presence of this facility also reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Vocational Studies of UNHAS to supporting the development of better and more sustainable educational infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted solemnly and attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Vocational Studies of UNHAS, members of the academic community, local government officials, and other invited guests. As part of the event, a tree-planting activity was also carried out as a symbol of environmental awareness and support for sustainable development.

Through the construction of this student dormitory, it is hoped that students will gain adequate supporting facilities so that the learning process and campus activities can run more optimally. In addition, this development is also part of efforts to strengthen the presence of vocational education in Selayar Islands Regency.
