MARINOVA Aquaculture Center Gelar Penebaran Nener Ikan Bandeng Bersama MWA Unhas

Selayar, November 28, 2025 — The MARINOVA Aquaculture Center at the RA Kartini Campus, Selayar, held a milkfish fry (nener) stocking activity on Friday, November 28, 2025. This activity represents a strategic step in strengthening hands-on practice–based learning and research for vocational students, while also reinforcing MARINOVA’s role as a center for aquaculture research and development in the Selayar Islands.

The stocking activity was attended by the leadership of Hasanuddin University, including the Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA) along with all MWA members, the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, the Vice Dean II, the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (GPM), the Head of Administration (KTU), and staff of the Faculty of Vocational Studies. Their presence demonstrated full support for the development of facilities and academic programs at the Selayar vocational campus.

The milkfish fry used in this activity were sourced from PT Esaputli Prakarsa Utama, Barru, a hatchery company known for its high-quality seed standards. These fry will be utilized for student practicum activities as well as for the study program’s entrepreneurial initiatives.

In its remarks, the Faculty of Vocational Studies of Hasanuddin University emphasized that this stocking activity is not merely ceremonial, but also reflects a strong commitment to advancing marine vocational education in island regions. With the MARINOVA Aquaculture Center facilities, students have the opportunity to learn directly through intensive and structured aquaculture practices.

The Chair of the MWA of Hasanuddin University also expressed appreciation for the facilities and academic activities at MARINOVA and hopes that this aquaculture center will continue to develop into a leading vocational learning model capable of producing professional human resources in aquaculture.

The activity proceeded smoothly and was met with great enthusiasm from all participants. With this stocking activity, the MARINOVA Aquaculture Center further strengthens its role as a living laboratory for students of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University, while also contributing to the development of the aquaculture sector in the Selayar Islands.
