UNHAS Explores International Collaboration with the China–Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association
Makassar, February 12, 2026 — The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ida Leida M., attended a discussion on academic and student affairs collaboration with a delegation from the China–Indonesia Cultural and Educational Exchange Association. This strategic activity is part of efforts to strengthen international networks and develop global collaboration between UNHAS and partners from China.
The discussion took place in the meeting room of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, and was attended by leaders from various academic units, including the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Vocational Studies. The delegation from the association was led by Chairman Hu Haibin, accompanied by representatives of educational institutions and association staff. The UNHAS delegation warmly welcomed the guests through representatives of university and faculty leadership.
The main agenda of the discussion covered several strategic cooperation opportunities, including:
Student exchange mechanisms between UNHAS and educational institutions in China;
Internship opportunities for students in companies and institutions in China;
Development plans for Double Degree and Joint Degree programs to enhance academic competence;
Support for UNHAS alumni to work in China after completing their studies.
In addition, both parties explored other potential initiatives to support student and lecturer mobility, such as organizing campus recruitment fairs involving Chinese companies operating in Indonesia, as well as developing joint training programs to strengthen students’ language skills and professional competencies.
Representatives of Universitas Hasanuddin expressed full support for this strategic initiative and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting the internationalization of higher education through inclusive and mutually beneficial academic cooperation. Through this initiative, it is expected that Universitas Hasanuddin will further expand its global network, enrich students’ academic experiences, and support vocational graduates in gaining international exposure relevant to the demands of the global workforce.
