Professional Universe 2026 Officially Opened, Vice Dean II of FV Unhas Encourages Industry Collaboration

The Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Prof. Dr. Ir. Zainuddin, M.Si., officially opened Professional Universe 2026. Organized by the Association of Metallurgical Extraction Technology Students (HMTME) of FV Unhas, the event was held at the JK Arenatorium Sports Hall (GOR) of Unhas on Saturday (May 2).

In his remarks, Zainuddin stated that Professional Universe 2026 serves as a strategic initiative to strengthen the connection between academia and industry needs. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders, particularly in the field of metallurgical extraction technology, which continues to develop alongside advances in the industrial sector.

Zainuddin also highlighted the importance of lecturers’ involvement in industry-oriented activities. According to him, lecturers should not only play a role in delivering academic material in the classroom but should also gain direct experience and understanding of industrial conditions. In this way, the knowledge provided to students can be more relevant to the needs and developments of the professional world.

He further explained that the Metallurgical Extraction Technology Study Program is still relatively new. Nevertheless, the study program has contributed to enhancing the reputation of the Faculty of Vocational Studies. This achievement, he noted, cannot be separated from the active participation of students in various activities that support the development of the study program.

Furthermore, Zainuddin stated that the growing interest in the Metallurgical Extraction Technology Study Program indicates its significant potential to produce graduates with comprehensive competencies in the field of metallurgy and extraction. This also highlights the importance of continuously developing the quality of education in alignment with industry needs.

At the end of his remarks, Zainuddin expressed his hope that all stakeholders, particularly industry partners, would continue to provide support and participate in the development of the Metallurgical Extraction Technology Study Program. He emphasized that such synergy is expected to contribute to improving the competencies of both lecturers and students, enabling them to meet the demands and requirements of the industrial sector.
