Sastra Indonesia and Inspirasinusantara.id Forge Partnership, Opening Internship Opportunities for Students to Learn Digital Media
MAKASSAR — Farisal, a 2008 alumnus of the Indonesian Literature Department at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), returned to his alma mater not as a student, but as a media professional offering new avenues of inspiration for the younger generation.
After more than a decade of experience at Harian FAJAR, Farisal founded a digital media company, PT Inspirasi Mediatama Nusantara, with its flagship platform, https://inspirasinusantara.id/, launched on February 9, 2023. The platform carries the slogan: Educate, Inspire, Mobilize.
Positioning itself as a mainstream outlet, https://inspirasinusantara.id/ delivers content on culture, lifestyle, the creative economy, and relevant local journalism. With a mission to amplify narratives from across the archipelago, the platform serves as a grounded, fresh, and hopeful space for meaning-making and economic creativity.
Known during his university years by the stage name “Latojang,” Farisal was actively involved in student organizations such as IMSI, served as Coordinator of SPaSI IMSI KMFIB Unhas, and chaired the 2011 “Estetika” new student orientation committee at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Unhas.
Now a certified senior journalist, Farisal brings a spirit of professionalism to his media venture. Beyond journalism, he also runs a coffee shop and eco-store under PT Daur Baur CES, reflecting his commitment to sustainability and the creative economy. His café, Daur Baur, is located in BTN Asal Mula, Makassar.
During a recent visit to the Indonesian Literature Department at FIB Unhas, Farisal met with Department Head Muslimat, Secretary Indarwati, Lecturer Siti Nursa’adah, and Professor AB Takko.
In the meeting, Farisal expressed his intention to open internship opportunities for students. “Students can come learn with us. We can accommodate up to five interns. They’ll be trained in writing and managing pillar content,” said the Soppeng-born media founder.
The proposal was warmly welcomed by Muslimat, who expressed hope that the internship collaboration could be realized soon. She emphasized that hands-on experience in media would be a valuable asset for Indonesian Literature students to sharpen their writing and content management skills professionally.
Farisal’s journey stands as proof that Unhas Indonesian Literature alumni can build media ecosystems that are not only professional but also educational and inspiring. From the campus stage to the media stage, Farisal continues to move forward.
