Faculty of Cultural Sciences Unhas Holds MKPK Optimization Workshop, Department of Archaeology Presents PIC MBKM

Makassar, October 7, 2025 - The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University held a Workshop on Optimizing the Implementation of Competency Strengthening Courses (MKPK) as part of strengthening the competency-based curriculum and improving the quality of learning across study programs. This activity took place in the Senate Room 2nd Floor FIB Unhas and was attended by faculty leaders, heads and secretaries of departments, and MBKM PICs from all study programs.

The event was opened at 08.45 WITA by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, S.S., M.Hum., who emphasized the urgency of MKPK as a strategic instrument in shaping adaptive and competent graduates. In his speech, he also underlined the importance of synergy between units in developing operational standards for the implementation of integrated MHPK.

The Department of Archaeology actively participated through the presence of PIC MBKM as an official representative, as well as the Secretary of the Department of Archaeology, Mrs. Yusriana, S.S., M.A. This presence reflects the commitment of the Department of Archaeology in supporting the transformation of learning that is relevant to the needs of society and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The first material presentation session was delivered by Prof. Risma Illa Maulany, S.Hut., M.NatRest., Ph.D. as Director of Education Unhas, who outlined the direction of the MHPK policy at the university level. Followed by Ir. Sahriyanti Saad, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D., Director of Educational Transformation and Learning Innovation (Transdiva), who explained the MKPK assessment rubric as a measuring tool for student competency achievement.

After ISHOMA, the activity continued with a brainstorming session and the preparation of SOPs for the implementation of MKPK within FIB Unhas, guided by Dr. Wahyuddin, S.S., M.Hum. and Rezky Ramadhani, S.S., M.Litt. The discussion was constructive and resulted in a number of technical recommendations that will be followed up by each department.

The workshop closed at 14.00 WITA with the hope that the implementation of MKPK in the future will be more focused, measurable, and have a real impact on the academic development and professionalism of graduates.
