Lecturers from the Archaeology Programme at Unhas Take Part in ASBAM-X 2026
Makassar, 26 August 2026 – The Archaeology Study Programme at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, has once again demonstrated its academic standing at an international level through the active participation of its lecturers in the 10th International Seminar on Archaeology, History and Culture in the Malay World (ASBAM-X 2026), which took place from 27 to 28 August 2026 in Malacca, Malaysia.
This involvement forms part of the Archaeology Study Programme’s commitment to supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly in the areas of lecturer mobility, academic recognition and research contributions at international scientific forums.
At ASBAM-X 2026, a number of lecturers from the Archaeology Undergraduate Programme at Unhas will present papers on a variety of research topics:

This participation not only strengthens the position of the Archaeology Undergraduate Programme within the international academic network, but also underscores the tangible contribution of lecturers to the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of interdisciplinary knowledge.
The Head of the Archaeology Undergraduate Programme emphasised that the lecturers’ participation in ASBAM-X 2026 is a tangible manifestation of the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as well as a strategy to strengthen the programme’s academic reputation. “Through this international forum, Unhas archaeology lecturers not only present their research findings but also build collaborative networks that will enrich scientific development and community service,” he said.
With this achievement, the Archaeology Programme hopes to continue expanding its academic contributions at regional and global levels, whilst strengthening the position of Hasanuddin University as a centre of excellence in cultural and historical studies.
