Tamalarea, September 16, 2025 - Located in the meeting room of the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, the team preparing the roadmap for research and community service for the period 2026-2030 held the first meeting to formulate the strategic direction of the Archaeology Study Program for the next five years.
This meeting is a follow-up to the evaluation of the previous roadmap (2020-2025), as well as the first step in preparing a document that will become the main reference for academic activities, research, and community service within the Study Program. The head of the drafting team emphasized that the roadmap is not just an administrative document, but a strategic instrument that represents scientific vision, social relevance, and institutional commitment.
The Importance of a Roadmap: Pillars of Academic and Social Integration
The research and service roadmap is designed to answer the challenges of the times, strengthen the scientific identity of the Archaeology Study Program, and ensure a real contribution to society and the preservation of cultural heritage. This document will be the basis for the preparation of BKD, RKAT, and the development of excellent programs based on geodiversity, local culture, and documentation technology.
Synergy and Collaboration: Key to Sustainable Implementation
In the discussion, all team members agreed that the success of the roadmap depends not only on the quality of the planning, but also on cross-field synergy and collaboration between stakeholders. The active involvement of lecturers, students, community partners, and external institutions is an important element in ensuring that the roadmap can be implemented in a sustainable and impactful manner.
The drafting team also formulated a work plan that included:
- Alignment of research themes with national and local strategic issues
- Integration of research-based community service
- Scheduling workshops and open discussion forums
- Mechanism for regular monitoring and evaluation of the roadmap
With a collaborative spirit and commitment to academic quality, the Archaeology Study Program of FIB UNHAS continues to strengthen its role as a scientific center that is adaptive, relevant, and oriented towards sustainability.
