Unhas Students Dominate the 2025 South Sulawesi "Chinese Bridge" Competition
On Friday, May 23, 2025, the preliminary "Chinese Bridge" Competition in the South Sulawesi Division was held at the Prof. Mattulada Hall, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University. The event was organized by the Mandarin Language Center at Hasanuddin University, also known as the Confucius Institute. It was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business: Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Adi Maulana ST, M.Phil.
The Chinese Bridge competition was divided into three assessment sections: a Mandarin speech, a spontaneous question and answer session, and a talent competition. It was divided into two main categories: universities and high schools across South Sulawesi. Three universities in Makassar, specifically those with Mandarin study programs, participated, with a total of 22 participants. Unhas, represented by the Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture study program, sent three students to participate. Unhas successfully won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the university category, with Lim Yi Vun as the 1st place winner, Queen Azizah Akmal as the 2nd place winner, and Siti Amina as the 3rd place winner. The winner of this competition will later represent South Sulawesi in the Indonesian Chinese Bridge event in Jakarta.
