Dean of FIB Unhas Reaffirms Commitment to Integrity Zone Development
MAKASSAR — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Hasanuddin (FIB Unhas) held a socialization event titled Integrity Zone Towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Service-Oriented Bureaucracy Area (WBBM) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Prof. Mattulada Hall, FIB Unhas Campus, Tamalanrea.
Dean of FIB Unhas, Prof. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to building a governance system that is clean, transparent, and service-oriented. In his remarks, Prof. Akhmar emphasized that all elements of the academic community—students, the public, administrative staff, and lecturers—are stakeholders served through a well-structured bureaucracy.
He explained that the development of the Integrity Zone at FIB began several years ago. In fact, in 2021, FIB Unhas was designated as a pilot project for Integrity Zone development within Universitas Hasanuddin, in line with directives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
Prof. Akhmar further highlighted that the implementation of the Integrity Zone encompasses various management aspects, including change management, governance restructuring, and improvements in public service quality. He cited examples such as the transformation of academic services, including research processes and thesis examinations, which are now designed to be more efficient and accessible.
The faculty also continues to enhance supporting infrastructure, such as the student secretariat and public facilities like gazebos, as part of efforts to create a comfortable and productive work environment. The Dean invited all members of the academic community to actively participate in cultivating a work culture that is systematic, well-structured, and responsive to service needs.
During the Integrity Zone socialization event, guest speaker Ishak Rahman delivered a presentation highlighting the challenges and stages of developing Integrity Zones towards WBK and WBBM. (*)
