At the awards ceremony held at Four Points by Sheraton Jakarta on Monday (September 14, 2026), the FIB Unhas delegation secured two Gold awards and one Silver award in the Special Awards: Sustainable Innovation category.
The first Gold award was presented to Tunggal Utama Ramadhan, SHS., for his work “Eco-Narrative Lab,” an authentic discourse-writing incubator developed to help mitigate greenwashing practices involving recycled products produced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The second Gold award went to A. Haikal Bangsawan for “RECLAIM,” an inclusive education model based on mobile schooling and creative literacy for out-of-school children.
Meanwhile, the Silver award was received by Ahmad Denyar Di Baiduri and his team for “Care-Sosial,” a community-based elderly care ecosystem designed as an alternative to institutional residential care and built around neighborhood-level RT/RW communities.
Director of Innovation and Intellectual Property at Hasanuddin University, Asmi Citra Malina, S.Pi., M.Agr., Ph.D., emphasized that the selection process for the competition was highly rigorous.
“All submitted proposals and innovations underwent administrative screening and rigorous substantive evaluation by the judging panel. The assessment focused on programs that generate tangible impacts for society and the environment, while adhering to ESG and SDG principles,” Asmi Citra said.
She expressed hope that the event would strengthen community-based innovation collaborations in support of national development.
The students’ academic supervisor, Rismayanti, S.S., M.Hum., praised the students for their initiative in developing applied research.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to providing Indonesian Literature students with broad opportunities to explore the potential of their academic discipline. The works developed by Tunggal, Haikal, and Denyar demonstrate that the humanities can play a significant role in addressing social issues, the circular economy, and social inclusion in tangible ways,” she said.
Representing the award recipients, Tunggal Utama Ramadhan expressed his gratitude for the achievement.
“This recognition underscores the strategic role of the humanities and language studies in addressing ecological and social crises. Through this applied research, we aim to demonstrate that literature students can develop ethical, impactful, and measurable solutions to real-world challenges,” he said.
The InTechSEA Awards 2026, attended by members of the cabinet, senior government officials, leaders of state-owned enterprises, and representatives of multinational corporations, served as a platform for innovators to showcase ideas and initiatives supporting sustainable development.
The achievement of the three Indonesian Literature students from FIB Unhas also demonstrates how a humanities-based approach can contribute to developing solutions to environmental, educational, and social challenges at the national level. (*)
