Patriot Expedition Team 2026: Empowering Communities through Sustainable Energy Innovation

The Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University proudly presents its Patriot Expedition Team 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable development and community empowerment through engineering innovation.

As part of this initiative, Dianti Utamidewi, S.T., M.T. will lead a community engagement program in Weri-Saharey, Fakfak Regency, West Papua, with the project entitled:

"Planning the Utilization of Distributed Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems to Strengthen Public Facilities and Support Nutmeg Downstream Development in the Weri-Saharey Transmigration Area, Fakfak Regency, West Papua."

The program aims to design and demonstrate an initial model for the implementation of distributed Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems to enhance public infrastructure while promoting sustainable value-added processing of nutmeg, one of the region's key agricultural commodities. By adopting a participatory approach that addresses local needs, the initiative seeks to create practical, scalable solutions that can be sustained through collaboration with local communities and government stakeholders.

Through the integration of renewable energy, community participation, and engineering expertise, this project aspires to contribute to the development of resilient and self-sufficient transmigration areas, while reinforcing the role of higher education institutions in delivering impactful innovations for society.
