Hasanuddin University Vocational Faculty Develops Teaching Factory Ecosystem Through Collaboration

The Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University officially received a visit from the team of the Center for the Development of Quality Assurance for Vocational Education in Marine Affairs, Fisheries, Information and Communication Technology (BPPMPV KPTK) as part of the finalization of a strategic cooperation plan between the two institutions. This meeting marked a concrete step toward strengthening synergy in vocational education based on industry needs and the development of high-quality human resources. The meeting took place in the meeting room of the Vocational Faculty, Hasanuddin University Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Tuesday, 24 February.
On this occasion, the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Restu, MP., emphasized that this collaboration holds strategic value in encouraging the improvement of study program quality and strengthening the competencies of vocational students. He added that the cooperation established was not a standalone initiative, but rather a continuation of several previous meetings and visits.
“In the context of vocational high school development, we are also ready to contribute through our network and experience in advancing vocational education,” explained Prof. Restu.
At the same event, the Head of BPPMPV KPTK, Yogi Sopian, ST., M.Pd., expressed appreciation for the commitment of the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University in building sustainable vocational education partnerships based on industry needs. According to him, this collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening the vocational education ecosystem, particularly in the marine and fisheries sectors, which hold great potential for further development.
“We highly welcome the commitment of the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University in expanding opportunities for collaboration. Strengthening Teaching Factory facilities, especially in fisheries product processing and the development of processed products such as marinated fish, is an important focus that we can develop together. We also open opportunities for cooperation in applied research and innovation so that the outcomes will not only benefit institutions, but also provide direct advantages to society and industry,” explained Yogi Sopian.
During the meeting, which was led by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation of the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ida Leida M., SKM., MKM., MScPH., discussions were held regarding the development of the Smart School ecosystem, including strengthening Teaching Factories in vocational schools specializing in fisheries, as well as implementing community service programs as the initial stage of cooperation realization.
The finalization of this cooperation plan is expected to become a milestone in strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and vocational education development agencies in supporting the improvement of human resources quality in marine affairs, fisheries, and information and communication technology. Through this shared commitment, both institutions are optimistic that the partnership established will be sustainable and provide tangible impacts on the development of vocational education in Indonesia.
