GRADUATE LEARNING OUTCOMES (GLO)
Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO)
Learning Outcomes (GLO) are formulations designed to achieve Graduate Competency Standards (GCS), which represent the minimum criteria integrating attitude, skill, and knowledge competencies that demonstrate students' achievements upon completion of their educational program. These GCS are part of the educational output standards specified in the national education standards. Therefore, GCS can be utilized as a reference for developing, implementing, and evaluating curricula.
The Graduate Competency Standards (GCS) formulated as Learning Outcomes (GLO) are more simplified, as stipulated in Articles 6 and 7 of Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 53 of 2023. This provides higher education institutions with greater flexibility in formulating integrated competencies encompassing attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This differs from the competency standards in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 3 of 2020, which focused on detailed and rigid mastery of concepts and theories, with strict separation between the domains of attitude, knowledge, and skills. These graduate competency standards aim to prepare students to become members of society who are faithful, pious, virtuous, and possess character aligned with Pancasila values. They should be capable and independent in applying, developing, and discovering science and technology beneficial to society, while actively developing their potential.
The GLO formula is as follows:
GLO-1
Able to apply and internalize the spirit of independence, struggle, entrepreneurship based on values, norms, and academic ethics as well as the values of Pancasila in all aspects of life.
GLO-2
Able to develop and solve problems of science and technology in the scientific field of statistics through research with an inter or multidisciplinary approach to produce innovative and tested work.
GLO-3
Able to think independently and critically as a lifelong learner in statistics to compete at the national and international levels in order to contribute significantly by using information and communication technology to solve problems by paying attention to the principle of sustainability.
GLO-4
Able to design, carry out, and evaluate data collection using appropriate methodology
GLO-5
Able to use modern computing tools, apply and evaluate computational techniques to solve statistical problems.
GLO-6
Able to apply statistical methods appropriately and evaluate them to analyze theoretical and real problems in various fields such as Industry, Business, Financial Economics, Social Population, Environment or Health.
These Learning Outcomes (GLO) are aligned with stakeholder aspirations obtained through both formal and informal forums. The involvement of stakeholders in these forums contributes to defining the GLO that graduates must possess. The mapping of the relationship between GLO and stakeholder aspirations is presented in Table 3.4 below:
