Accreditation Preparation Workshop for the Master's Program in Data Science

Makassar, August 4, 2026 – The Master's Program in Data Science, Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, held an Accreditation Preparation Workshop for the Master's Program in Data Science on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The event took place at the Ballroom of the Department of Statistics from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM WITA.

This workshop was held as part of the Master's Program in Data Science's preparations ahead of the accreditation process by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computing (LAM INFOKOM). The activity focused on the drafting, review, and strengthening of accreditation documents to ensure alignment with the applicable instruments, indicators, and requirements.

The event featured Prof. Dr. Amil Ahmad Ilham, S.T., M.IT., a lecturer at the Department of Informatics Engineering and a member of the LAM INFOKOM Executive Board, as the resource speaker. In his presentation, the speaker explained the stages of the accreditation process, the required documentation, the fulfillment of assessment indicators, and various aspects that the study program needs to pay attention to.

The workshop was attended by home-base lecturers of the Master's Program in Data Science, course-teaching lecturers, as well as lecturers and administrative staff of the Department of Statistics. Participants also discussed the documents already available, the data and supporting evidence needed, the division of responsibilities, and the follow-up steps to be taken.

This activity supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, Quality Education. Strengthening accreditation documents and the quality assurance system is an essential part of ensuring that the curriculum, learning process, human resources, academic services, and learning outcomes of the Master's Program in Data Science meet quality higher-education standards.

Through this activity, the Master's Program in Data Science is expected to be able to prepare its accreditation documents in a more systematic, complete, and consistent manner in accordance with LAM INFOKOM standards. This workshop also reflects the Department of Statistics' commitment to strengthening a culture of quality and improving the quality of education delivery at Hasanuddin University.
