Unhas Strengthens Collaboration with LSP LAN Jakarta to Improve Policy Analyst Competence

Makassar, August 14, 2025 – The Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University has established a strategic partnership with the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) of the Jakarta State Administration Institute (LAN) to enhance human and institutional capacity in the field of policy analysis.

The activity, which took place on August 13–14, 2025 at the Unhas Hotel & Convention, Tamalanrea, was attended by seven lecturers from the Department of Administrative Sciences who underwent the Policy Analyst Professional Certification assessment process for levels 7, 8, and 9.

The Director of the LSP LAN Jakarta, Yogi Suwarno, PhD, explained that participants who are declared competent will receive an official certificate as professional recognition in the field of policy analysis. "This activity is a continuation of the long-standing collaboration between Unhas and LAN. We hope that activities like this will continue, including the opening of a Competency Testing Center (TUK) in collaboration with LSP Unhas to facilitate the assessment process for prospective policy analysts," he said.

The Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Alwi, expressed his appreciation for the support from LSP LAN Jakarta. He believes that strengthening the policy analysis profession is crucial to ensuring higher-quality, evidence-based local government policies. "Especially in Eastern Indonesia, qualified policy analysts will play a significant role in promoting the quality of public policy. Next year, we will again conduct certification tests for other administrative science lecturers as part of the preparations for the establishment of the Policy Analysis Technical Implementation Unit (TUK) at LSP Unhas in collaboration with LSP LAN," he explained.

Certification test participants included Prof. Dr. Alwi, Prof. Sangkala, and Prof. Gita Susanti (level 9); Dr. Muhammad Rusdi and Andi Ahmad Yani, M.Si, MPA, M.Sc (level 8); and Irma Ariyanti Arif, S.Sos, M.Si and Nuralamsyah Ismail, S.Sos, M.Si (level 7).

Prof. Alwi added that the professional certificate will add value to Unhas' undergraduate and postgraduate Public Administration graduates. "With a policy analyst diploma and professional certificate, our alumni will be better prepared to face the challenges of the workplace and contribute to quality public policy," he concluded.
