Strengthening Graduates’ Professional Competencies, 12 Public Administration Lecturers from FISIP Unhas Participate in Professional Competency Assessor Training

MAKASSAR, DIAP-FISIP – The Department of Administrative Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Hasanuddin University (Unhas), has taken another strategic step toward enhancing the quality and competitiveness of its graduates in the labor market. A total of 12 lecturers from the Public Administration Study Program at FISIP Unhas are officially participating in the Batch IX Competency Assessor Training and Certification Program, organized by the Professional Certification Center / Professional Certification Body (LSP) of Hasanuddin University.

The intensive training is scheduled to take place from Tuesday to Friday (October 13–16, 2026), followed by the Competency Assessor Certification Examination on Saturday (October 17, 2026), at the Aston Makassar Hotel & Convention Center.

The lecturers’ participation in this certified assessor training represents a crucial long-term commitment to institutional development and the professional future of students. By acquiring nationally recognized assessor competencies, these lecturers are expected to spearhead the establishment of a specialized Competency Assessment Center (Tempat Uji Kompetensi/TUK) for the Policy Analyst competency scheme within the Department of Administrative Science at FISIP Unhas.

This strategic initiative aims to ensure that, in the future, Public Administration students at Hasanuddin University will graduate not only with undergraduate or postgraduate academic degrees but also with officially recognized Professional Competency Certificates. These professional certifications are expected to provide significant added value by strengthening graduates’ professional capabilities, enhancing their employability, and increasing their competitiveness in both the global labor market and the public sector.

The program was officially opened by the Head of the Professional Certification Center / Professional Certification Body (LSP) of Hasanuddin University, Ir. Mukti Ali, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Mukti Ali expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm demonstrated by participants from various faculties, particularly those from the Department of Administrative Science at FISIP Unhas.

He expressed his hope that participants completing the assessor training would become key driving forces in advancing the development of LSP Unhas, making it more progressive and innovative while expanding the range of professional certification schemes offered.

Through these efforts, LSP Unhas is expected to play an increasingly significant role in supporting Hasanuddin University’s commitment to becoming a higher education institution that delivers meaningful and tangible contributions to society.
