BUILDING LEGACY THROUGH A DIGITAL FRAMEWORK
Monday, May 18, 2026, in lecture hall FIB 323, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University. The course Conservation and Documentation of Language and Codicology featured a guest lecturer from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Dr. Daeng Haliza Daeng Jamal. This lecture addressed the theme of “Literary Preservation.” In her discussion, Dr. Daeng Haliza Daeng Jamal explained that the preservation of heritage can be achieved in various ways, including digitalization, institutional role, and community involvement. These three aspects must support one another so that cultural heritage is safeguarded for future generations. In connection with this, the documentation of heritage, particularly manuscripts, can be digitized to serve as a reference for future generations, to be more engaging, and to be accessible anytime and anywhere.
