Visit by the Makassar City Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) to the Department of Statistics: Coordination and Discussion on a Cooperation Plan

The Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, received a visit from the Makassar City Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. This meeting was held as part of coordination and discussion regarding a cooperation plan between the two institutions.

During the meeting, both parties discussed collaboration opportunities that could be developed in line with the fields and needs of each institution. The discussion focused on strengthening the use of data, the application of statistics, and the development of activities that could benefit both the institutions and the community.

The visit also served as a forum for exchanging information on potential resources and forms of joint activities that could be carried out. Through this discussion, the Department of Statistics and the Makassar City Diskominfo identified a number of collaboration opportunities that can be followed up through more targeted program planning.

This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and local government agencies. This synergy is expected to encourage the more optimal use of data and statistics in supporting program implementation and evidence-based decision-making.
