60 Mandarin Chinese Teachers from 19 Countries Participate in the "The Splendor of Jin Culture: Spreading the Word of Chinese Literature 晋韵华章·华文传道" Training in Shanxi
Shanxi, China: Sixty Mandarin Chinese teachers from 19 countries participated in the international training program "Chinese Language and Culture" held in Shanxi University, Shanxi Province, 3-16 November 2025. This program is a key agenda for improving the competence of Mandarin Chinese teachers globally and strengthening international educational networks.
Among the participants were two lecturers from the Mandarin Language and Culture Study Program at Hasanuddin University, Sukma and Wa Ode Siti Hardiant Halidun, who had the opportunity to participate directly in a series of academic activities, workshops, and cultural visits during the training.

Language-Culture Integration-Based Training
The "晋韵华章 华文传道" program emphasizes strengthening Mandarin Chinese pedagogy integrated with local Shanxi culture—from music and history to traditional arts. Participants receive training on:
Innovative teaching methods for international learners,
Utilization of technology in Mandarin Chinese classes,
Cross-cultural approaches to enhance learning effectiveness,
Hands-on study of Shanxi's cultural heritage, an important part of Chinese civilization.
Participant Impressions from Hasanuddin University
Wa Ode Siti Hardianti Halidun, a lecturer in the Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture Study Program at Hasanuddin University, stated that this training provided a new perspective on cultural integration in Mandarin Chinese teaching.
"This program is very comprehensive and has opened our eyes to how Mandarin Chinese education can be developed with a more humanistic, creative, and relevant approach for students," she said.
Meanwhile, Sukma assessed this activity as an important platform for exchanging good practices with educators from various countries.
"In addition to deepening our understanding of Shanxi culture, we also discussed extensively the challenges and innovations in teaching Mandarin in various global contexts. This experience is invaluable for curriculum development and teaching at Hasanuddin University," he said.
