Nanchang, China — Students from the Culture, Management, and Tourism (BMKT) Study Program at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), participating in the 2+2 Joint Degree Program in Nanchang with PPIT Nanchang, successfully held a cultural event titled "Harmony in Diversity: An Introduction to Ethnic Cultures in Indonesia and China." The event brought together Indonesian, international, and local Chinese students in a warm and educational cultural interaction space.

The event opened with a seminar and cross-cultural discussion featuring speakers from Indonesia and China. The Indonesian speaker presented the topic "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika: Getting to Know the Diversity of Ethnic Groups in Indonesia," which explained the richness of Indonesia's ethnicities and the meaning of unity in diversity. Meanwhile, the Chinese speaker, a local student, presented "China's Ethnic Diversity: Top Eight Differences Between Southern and Northern Ethnic Groups," which provided insight into the differences in cultural characteristics between ethnic groups in Southern and Northern China. The two topics complemented each other and reinforced the event's main theme of cultural harmony.

In addition to the seminar, the students held an Indonesian cultural exhibition session that attracted a large audience. Various cultural artifacts, such as batik, baju bodo (traditional clothes), angklung (angklung), gendang (drums), and fried bananas (banana goreng), were exhibited and introduced to both international and local students. Participants enthusiastically tried out musical instruments, photographed traditional clothing, and sampled authentic Indonesian cuisine. This interactive exhibition was one of the most lively parts, providing a firsthand experience for Chinese students in Indonesian culture.

The event was further enlivened by artistic performances, including dances from four Indonesian ethnic groups and poetry readings, successfully bringing the nuances of the Indonesian archipelago to the heart of Nanchang. The performance by the BMKT Unhas 2+2 Joint Degree students received high praise from the packed audience.

The high level of enthusiasm forced the committee to limit the number of registrants, as the room capacity was insufficient for all requests. Despite some technical difficulties, the event ran smoothly and was deemed a huge success. Participants expressed satisfaction and hoped similar events could be held again regularly.

Through this event, students from the BMKT Unhas 2+2 Joint Degree Program demonstrated a tangible contribution to cultural diplomacy abroad. Supported by PPIT Nanchang, this event not only introduced Indonesia to the people of Nanchang but also strengthened cross-cultural ties, expanded friendship networks, and strengthened the role of Indonesian students as cultural ambassadors in China.
