Indonesian Literature Lecturers of FIB Hasanuddin University Participate in the 10th International Seminar on Archaeology, History, and Culture in the Malay World (ASBAM-X)

MAKASSAR-Lecturers from the Department of Indonesian Literature, together with colleagues from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University, participated in the 10th International Seminar on Archaeology, History, and Culture in the Malay World (ASBAM-X), held on 27–28 August 2026 at the Dusit Princess Hotel, Melaka, Malaysia.

The international seminar was held under the theme "Archaeology, History, and Culture of the Malay World in Strengthening Cultural Identity." It served as a platform for academics, researchers, and cultural practitioners from various countries to exchange research findings and strengthen scholarly collaboration across the Malay World.

ASBAM-X featured six major sub-themes:

  • Language, Linguistics, and Literature;

  • Archaeology, Culture, and Heritage;

  • Philosophy, Arts, and Technology;

  • Environment, Ecology, and Society;

  • History, Politics, and International Relations; and

  • Philology, Toponymy, and Oral Traditions.

This year's seminar was organized by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Based on the forum's agreement, Hasanuddin University will host the 11th International Seminar on Archaeology, History, and Culture in the Malay World (ASBAM XI) in 2027. (*)
