Implementing the Competency Enhancement Course, the Department of Indonesian Literature at FIB Unhas Prepares Students for Internships
MAKASSAR — The Head of the Department of Indonesian Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University, Dr. Dra. Muslimat, M.Hum., together with the Secretary of the Department, provided guidance and orientation to the 2024 cohort of students who will participate in the internship program. The session was held at the Department of Indonesian Literature on Thursday (June 18, 2026).
The orientation is part of the implementation of the Competency Enhancement Course (Mata Kuliah Penguatan Kompetensi/MKPK), a compulsory course under the 2023 Curriculum (K23). The course recognizes students' extracurricular academic experiences—such as internships, student organizations, competitions, and community service—as learning achievements that can be converted into academic credits (Semester Credit Units/SKS).
During the session, students received guidance on internship procedures, workplace ethics, and the expected learning outcomes of the program. The orientation aims to equip students with the knowledge and professional readiness needed to apply their academic competencies in real-world work environments.
The MKPK course is designed to strengthen students' competencies in line with the graduate profile through a 20-credit (SKS) learning component, which is converted through the Sipakamase application. The program is expected to bridge academic learning and the professional world by providing contextual learning experiences, expanding students' networks with strategic partners, and enhancing their readiness to enter the workforce.
