The Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy Practicum held at Citra Satwa Celebes Zoo served as a crucial platform for observing animal feed management directly within an ex-situ conservation environment. With specific group assignments covering the classes of reptiles, aves, and mammals, students were given the opportunity to analyze diverse nutritional needs based on the biological characteristics and unique feeding behaviors of each species. These observations included identifying feed composition, preparation techniques, and portion adjustments aimed at supporting the optimal health of animals in captivity.

Beyond daily maintenance aspects, this practicum also emphasized the implementation of nutritional therapy as a medical support measure for animals with specific health conditions. Through field guidance, each group evaluated how dietary modifications can function as support for disease recovery or the fulfillment of specific energy needs according to the animal's life cycle. This hands-on experience at Citra Satwa Celebes successfully synergized veterinary nutrition theory with clinical reality in the field, strengthening the competency to design sustainable wildlife maintenance programs.
