Makassar, 24–27 November 2025 – The Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, is once again organising a collaborative initiative through a Geographic Information System (GIS) training programme in partnership with the Makassar City Environment Agency.

This four-day event, running from 24 to 27 November 2025, is designed to enhance capacity and strengthen competencies in the field of geospatial information systems. The training covers various topics including spatial data processing, digital mapping, regional analysis, and the application of GIS to support environmental management and monitoring.

The collaboration between the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, and the Makassar City Environment Agency represents a strategic step towards integrating geospatial science with practical needs in the environmental sector, particularly in supporting data-driven decision-making.

Through this initiative, it is hoped that participants will gain a deeper understanding of GIS applications, whilst strengthening the synergy between academic institutions and government agencies in supporting sustainable environmental development in Makassar City.
